Lazard Membership Terms and Conditions

1. About the Membership

The Lazard Membership is a home maintenance membership provided by Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas Ltd. It is designed to help customers maintain their plumbing, heating and gas systems through planned servicing, priority support and member benefits.

Membership benefits are subject to availability, property type, location and the plan selected.

2. Membership Benefits

Depending on the membership plan selected, benefits may include:

  • Annual boiler service.
  • Annual plumbing and heating inspection.
  • Priority booking.
  • Member discounts on eligible works.
  • Service and maintenance reminders.
  • Access to advice and support from Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas.

The exact benefits available under your membership will be confirmed when you join.

3. What Is Not Included

Unless specifically stated in writing, membership does not include:

  • Free repairs.
  • Free emergency call-outs.
  • Parts and materials.
  • Boiler breakdown repairs.
  • Drainage investigations or drain clearance.
  • Electrical works.
  • Decorating or making good.
  • Structural or building works.
  • Manufacturer warranty claims.
  • Specialist surveys or reports.
  • Works arising from misuse, neglect, accidental damage or third-party interference.
  • Pre-existing faults identified before or during the first inspection.
  • Works outside our normal service area.

Any additional works required will be quoted separately.

4. Annual Boiler Service

Where an annual boiler service is included within the membership:

  • The service must be booked and completed during the active membership period.
  • Suitable access and safe working conditions must be available.
  • Parking must be available close to the property.
  • The appliance must be safe to work on.

Should defects or safety concerns be identified, we will advise you and provide a separate quotation for any required repairs.

The annual service has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for alternative services.

5. Priority Booking

Membership provides priority booking over non-members wherever reasonably possible.

Priority booking does not guarantee:

  • Same-day attendance.
  • Emergency attendance.
  • Weekend attendance.
  • Attendance within a specific timeframe.

Priority booking remains subject to engineer availability, workload, weather conditions, location, traffic, access and parts availability.

6. Member Discounts

Active members are entitled to a 10% discount on eligible works carried out by Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas.

The discount applies only to quotations issued after the membership commencement date.

The maximum discount available under the membership is capped at a total saving of £1,000 (including VAT) during any membership year.

Once the annual discount allowance has been reached, any further works will be charged at standard rates.

The discount does not apply to:

  • Existing quotations issued before membership commenced.
  • Insurance works.
  • Manufacturer warranty works.
  • Subcontractor costs.
  • Specialist reports and surveys.
  • Membership fees.
  • Third-party supplied materials.
  • Any works specifically excluded by Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas.

Membership discounts cannot be combined with any other promotion, offer, negotiated rate or discount unless agreed in writing.

Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas reserves the right to amend, replace or remove discount benefits upon membership renewal. Members will be notified of any changes before renewal.

7. Payments and Renewal

Membership fees are payable monthly or annually depending on the plan selected.

Membership benefits are available only while payments remain up to date.

If payment fails or is missed:

  • Membership benefits may be suspended immediately.
  • Scheduled services may be postponed.
  • Discounts and priority booking may be withdrawn until payments are brought up to date.

Membership may automatically renew unless cancelled in accordance with these terms.

Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas reserves the right to review and amend membership pricing, benefits and discounts at renewal.

8. Cancellation by the Customer

Membership may be cancelled at any time by providing written notice to:

Where a member has received benefits exceeding the membership fees paid, Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas reserves the right to recover the value of those benefits.

For example, if a member receives an annual boiler service, discounted works or other benefits and subsequently cancels, we may charge the difference between the membership fees paid and the standard retail value of the benefits received.

Membership fees already paid are non-refundable unless required by law.

9. Cancellation by Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership where:

  • Membership payments remain outstanding.
  • The property is unsafe.
  • Access is repeatedly unavailable.
  • The customer behaves in an abusive, threatening or unreasonable manner.
  • Membership benefits are being misused.
  • We are unable to provide services within the area.
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent continued service.

Where possible, reasonable notice will be provided.

10. Missed Appointments and Access

Customers are responsible for providing:

  • Safe access to the property.
  • Suitable parking arrangements.
  • Access to relevant equipment and systems.

An abortive visit charge of £85 + VAT may apply where:

  • No access is available.
  • The appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
  • Safe parking is unavailable.
  • The property is not ready for the scheduled visit.
  • We are unable to proceed due to circumstances beyond our control.

11. Fair Usage Policy

Membership is intended for normal domestic use.

Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas reserves the right to investigate and restrict membership benefits where excessive, unreasonable or abusive use is identified.

Examples may include:

  • Repeated requests for non-member services.
  • Excessive attendance requests.
  • Abuse of priority booking facilities.
  • Commercial use of a domestic membership.

Our decision regarding fair usage shall be final.

12. Property Ownership and Transfer

Membership applies only to the registered property and customer listed on the membership account.

Membership cannot be transferred to another property or individual without our written agreement.

If you move home, please contact us to discuss available options.

13. Landlords and Rental Properties

Where membership is purchased by a landlord:

  • Membership applies only to the nominated property.
  • Tenant access remains the landlord’s responsibility.
  • Gas Safety Certificates are not included unless specifically stated within the membership package.
  • Compliance inspections and certification may be charged separately.

14. Limitations and Exclusions

Membership is intended to assist with planned maintenance and support.

Membership does not guarantee:

  • That faults will not occur.
  • That parts will remain available.
  • That repairs will always be possible.
  • That attendance can be provided within a specific timeframe.

We accept no responsibility for failures caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Manufacturer defects.
  • Poor workmanship by third parties.
  • Water quality issues.
  • Sludge, scale or system contamination.
  • Frozen pipework.
  • Hidden defects.
  • Structural defects.
  • Electrical supply issues.
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

15. Liability

Nothing within these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability which cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to the above, Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas’ total liability arising from membership shall not exceed the total membership fees paid by the member during the preceding 12 months.

16. Changes to Membership Terms

Lazard Plumbing, Heating & Gas reserves the right to amend these Membership Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on our website.

Material changes affecting membership benefits or pricing will be communicated to members before taking effect.

17. Data Protection

Personal information will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

Information may be used for:

  • Membership administration.
  • Service reminders.
  • Appointment scheduling.
  • Customer support.
  • Legal and regulatory compliance.

We will not sell your personal information to third parties.

18. Governing Law

These Membership Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising from the membership shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
